Help The Gardens, help the community!
We’re building a greenhouse and community garden at The Gardens at Heather Farm. Show your support for the installation of a new greenhouse, shadehouse, outdoor education and display area, and 60-bed community garden. Donate and sign up to reserve a garden plot.
The 40 year-old greenhouse, located down the road from The Gardens on the City of Walnut Creek’s corporation yard and supplying essential resources such as plants for our garden and for plant sales, will no longer be available to us. Without a greenhouse facility to grow plants, our goal to serve the community and educate the public about nature would be in jeopardy. A new greenhouse will enhance our productivity and garden resources via a state-of-the art facility, allow for more frequent plant sales to the public that feature a wider array of specimens, and provide a new space for classes and workshops.
Adjacent to the new greenhouse will be a large community garden featuring 60+ raised beds available to rent for Walnut Creek residents. The community garden will provide local individuals and families with a place to grow their own food and garden with the community.
Donations to The Gardens in support of the greenhouse and community garden are currently being accepted. Use the donation box on the right to contribute online or call (925) 947-1678.
