Science Explorers Homeschool Programs at The Gardens at Heather Farm
Registration is now open for our fall programs. Each month we host 2 classes on Tuesdays. Each class is 1 hour long. TK-3rd grade students are from 10-11am and 4th-8th grade students are from 11am-12pm.
Cost is $30 per month or $40 per month if you use a voucher (please see voucher information below)

February: Insects and Reptiles (2 classes)
TK-3rd: 10-11am, 4th-8th: 11am-12pm
Tuesday February 3: Learn all about insects and meet some insects that call The Gardens home
Tuesday February 17: Learn all about reptiles and meet several reptiles
Registration closes Friday January 30
March: Engineering Challenge (2 classes)
TK-3rd: 10-11am, 4th-8th: 11am-12pm
Tuesday March 3: Using household items we will provide, students will have the opportunity to build a prototype and test ways to protect an egg from breaking when dropped
Tuesday March 17: Taking the successes and challenges students had last class, they will have the opportunity to redesign their prototype and hopefully create an even more successful project

April: All About Birds (2 classes)
TK-3rd: 10-11am, 4th-8th: 11am-12pm
Tuesday April 7: We will learn about native birds to Contra Costa County and go bird watching in The Gardens
Tuesday April 21: We will build a bird nesting material dispenser and do more bird watching in The Gardens

May: Explore The Gardens at Heather Farm (2 classes)
TK-3rd: 10-11am, 4th-8th: 11am-12pm
Tuesday May 5: We will explore The Gardens learning all about the native and non-native plants we have here
Tuesday May 19: We will explore The Gardens learning all about the 8 microhabitats that we have created here

Please read through all this information BEFORE booking a class:
- Choose the month for your student(s)
- Enter the number of students that will be participating in the program for each time slot (you can register multiple students all at one time)
- When you get to the “create booking” page, you can add additional months or additional grade levels to your cart by clicking on the +Add to Booking button in the top left corner
- Once you have registered for all your programs, fill out our registration information and make sure to include the name and grade level of all students who will be participating.
- You will then be prompted for payment. If you are going to use a voucher, please see information below. Please contact us with any questions or if you have trouble registering.
Refund Policy:
Program fees are non-refundable for any absences or missed programs. A full refund will only be issued for any classes canceled by The Gardens at Heather Farm.
Vouchers:
We currently accept vouchers from Pacific Charter and Visions. You MUST still register in our system, even if you are using a voucher. When registering, please use the following voucher codes to make the class cost become 0. You must add the code to every program you register for. Once you add the code, complete the registration as normal. We do charge a $10 processing fee to use vouchers. Vouchers should be for $40 each student.
