Color Tricks

Be your own color wizard to evoke emotions and atmospheres of your choosing to fuel personal artistic growth and expression.
Using watercolor for the class will focus on exploring color and its tricks, emphasizing specific contrasts and relationships that work in other mediums. By understanding transparent color with a limited palette, the unpredictable nature of wet paint becomes more enjoyable and less intimidating. There are some initial exercises resulting in a set of color chips to keep for personal reference, (no color wheels), and the course will cover basic techniques for paint control, applicable to desired subject matter.

We start with color contrast chips and end with a painting encouraging the freedom to use chosen references and materials creating new opportunities for the artist.
