RecycleSmart: Composting in the Classroom

We have used all available funds for the 2023-2024 school year and are no longer taking requests for programs. Registration for the 2024-2025 school year will open in May.

Get ready to dig in and investigate the importance of natural cycling! A rarely explored but incredibly important realm of our world’s natural cycles lies right under our feet, in the dark, rich soils. Solve the mysteries of the wiggly creatures that live underneath us consuming items we no longer want and transforming them into the nutrients we need. Our Do The Rot thing is designed for students in grades K-2 and our Wonderful Worms class is designed for students in grades 3-5.  Class curriculum addresses Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).

Programs are 1 hour long for 1 class at a time.  To make the most of our grant funds, please book multiple classes at your site on the same day.
